In response to a question posed by oldguy in a now deleted post:

Oldguy,
I made phone contact a little past 9:00. Spoke with Michael who secured for me a small Gambler with a maroon micarta handle. I too must have made about 100 calls. Persistence does have its rewards!
It's frustrating to make so many calls only to get a busy signal, but when you finally get through, such a marvelous experience.
It is occasions such as this that indicate why Randall Knives retain such devoted fans. Sure, they produce fantastic knives, but on top of that, everyone is so polite and respectful.
Gary has to be proud that the Randall empire is in such good hands. Furthermore, W.D. most certainly would be delighted that his grandsons are polishing the Sterling reputation he and Gary built!

When my new acquisition arrives it will be Christmas in April!

Thanks David. I did delete my post as I did not want to start a duplicate thread. It looked like shop sale results were being posted here. Yes you must keep trying, and when they answer you get that feeling like a kid on Christmas morning. I have fun just calling. And yes everyone at RMK is great folks.oldguy

I would have figured more than a couple of folks here would have got something from the sale.

I got through, talked to Valerie, and have one coming. Nothing to fancy, just a number 28, but I've been wanting to try one so I'm excited to get it.

My dad, buddy and I were there again this year. We arrived around 6:30 PM on Sunday. Which put us 12-14 in line. Numbers 1 and 2 in line arrived sometime Saturday morning. Shortly after our arrival Scott and his wife stopped by with some pizzas. Thank You. We ate pizza and socialized for awhile, caught up with friends we haven’t seen since last years sale. Another forum member spark42 joined us from Kentucky. Thanks for the jerky Dennis. Once you get there and secure your place on the list its a waiting game.

We have been doing this the last 7 years and it never disappoints. Prior to the sale starting Scott informed everyone that at 10:00am the museum would be open specially for us. We each were able to make 2 purchases for a total of 6 knives. I got a stainless Cattleman with macerate handle on the first round and a Stag Carving set on the second. My father picked up a sweet Stag Guardian in the first round and a Triathlete in the second. My buddy got a Black Micarta Gambler first and a carving set in the second. Can’t remember what Dennis picked up.

After we each made our purchases we headed over to the museum where we signed the guest book and were welcomed by GTR. The museum is WOW, double WOW. Definitely worth the wait.
