These are really tough and outstanding looking finishes on some of my favorite user Randalls. A truly great idea followed up by a tremendous follow-through, Rob.

So,
I have a friend of a friend, who's son to getting ready to be deployed....so, the news comes through that his dad is looking for a knife....my friend say's nothing like a Randall!!! you need to call Rocky...
I know there are plenty good Randall's out there, but the VST came to mind....does anybody know if any are available, and where one might find one?

:-)Rocky

Rocky,

Why not touch base with Mitchell on one of the Model 3 fighters he did. See if he has any still left for sale. Might be a lot easier than trying to pin down a VST. Just a thought !!

Best of luck....

For a user knife would not a standard model with gun blue and dull paint do the same job, plus a few extra rivets in the sheath?
Just think that would be the easy option, if I were being deployed I would want one on my belt and not in the mail...

Too bad Randall doesn't offer subdued finishes on their knives to meet the requirements of today's Military.

Pickled blade works to take the shine off of a Carbon blade.

Rocky,

Tune may still have some of the recon fighters he made with the black or desert tan finish. Take a look on his website or pm him. Just a thought.

thanks guys!!
I knew I could get some help here....stickman, I tried that web site, not very user friendly...pickling is something that I had not thought of...I think there is some time....maybe a month, I'm not sure yet.
I have left a message for Mitchell....
also waiting to hear back, as to what type of knife interests them/him....should know more by in the morning
Thanks to all that have responded!! That's what this site is all about!!

:-)Rocky

Behring also does their knives in acid etch... so they are dark as well....

or the technical line comes in black as well.
