My younger Son, Tom and I, took a nice day hike up to Bald Rocks in Harriman Sate Park.
Still some snow up there and as you'll see in one of the pics of Tom, it occasionally snowed on us that day.
This is an old favorite place that we backpacked to and slept out overnight,
also with older Son Anthony and the Boy Scout Troop many times in the past. We carried our model 5s ...
his a 5" made about 3 years ago and mine a 6" Angier from the early to mid 80s.

Great photos, Tony! My son and I have been backpacking partners since he was 5. That was ten years ago. shocked

Like father, like son - as far as your knives go. What made your son decide on a 5" blade?

Guido,
Mille Grazie!
And a peaceful Easter to you and the Family.
Buona Pasqua a tutta la famiglia.

Tom,
I decided ... that #5-5" is one of two identical Randalls I had made for both Sons on becoming Eagle Scouts.
Each has his name and Eagle Scout engraved on the blade.
Time sure does fly. It's a wonderful day when I get to spend time with one or both of my grown Sons!

Amen, brother, to everything you said in your last entry. What great pics!
My mom ALWAYS said "hate to hear people say they were just wasting time-it's too precious to waste", and ain't it the truth! You've gotta get the goody outta every minute, as it goes flying by.
Congrats on your sons, blessings this Easter to you and your family, and GREAT choice in your hiking knives! Thanks for sharing your pics.
