It seems that Guido was out riding with some people on Sunday and was involved with other bicyclists in a collision.
He hit the asphalt pretty hard and broke his acetabulum ... a lower part of the pelvis. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acetabulum
He is ok but in traction. He will decide soon whether to have surgery or not. If he avoids the surgery, as he says,
he will have a long recovery with immobilization for 4-5 months.

I will keep us all up to date with info as I get it.
