Here are some pics that I've been meaning to post. Some are of jobs done by my #5-4 and others are just pics taken in the woods.

In this first set I trimmed a sable palm frond that was drooping over the boardwalk. By bending it and giving it a good whack it will split nicely.

Here are some creek photos.

A rose bush in a corn field is a weed, the dictionary says, and so is a citrus tree in a nature preserve.

No story for these pics. I just liked the way the vines looked on the burnt pines.

A storm broke this great old laurel oak, which then broke the boardwalk.

The first pic is a Japanese Climbing Fern which is a very bad invasive species. Normally I use herbicide on these, but all I had at the moment was my knife.

The second pic is a cool shelf fungus that I came across. I think it's called a sulphur shelf (Laetiporus sulphureus). It's also known as chicken-of-the-woods because it has the texture and flavor of chicken. I've never tried it.

The third pic is just my sheath that was resting on my steering wheel.

I'm with Ron...except I've been slammed, trying to get caught up after the Gun & Knife show in Orlando..."AND"... The knife show in Lakeland. Whatever ya' do, don't stop posting Rick. In all honesty: I'd love to see these type of posts in the "Tents-N-Trails" forum. That's a very appropriate spot also.
