Personally I don't believe the FC Double Hilt is too big, heavy or unwieldy for this knife but that is just my opinion. I guess it depends on whether your knife is going to be a user and if so for what general purpose.

When I wrote, " I have seen some excellent knives in pictures, but I can't tell if they are 8" blades or the 6" blade", your's was one of the pictures I was referring to. I saw it under the knife of the week for model 12, and I think it is a beauty. If only I could get that handle!

Thanks for the information, based on this, I am leaning towards the FC double hilt.
