I'm Baaack! Good trip to the woods. Although I saw many deer, none with enough or big enough horns to shoot. 2 weeks I go back. Nice to see all the posts...and anyone awaiting shipping: I'll start tomorrow getting stuff out.
"By God" hunting knife means a "hunting knife", nothing more "AND"...nothing less. Those would be "other builds". Hope this helps. Bama hunting consists of (mostly) whitetails, hogs and turkey. Deer and turkey fold easily to 3/16" stock knives...."but" big hogs? Not-so-much!
Elk hunting in Northern New Mexico, etc...yield easier to 1/4" stock knives...IMO. It all depends upon your definition of your
"hunter".
I use a #3-5" and a #5-5" an aweful lot. No complaints and never seem under-gunned. My last trip out west I used a 4" Stanaback Spl. and a "Trailblazer"! (This was before it was numbered #27-5 3/4")...Again" no complaints.
Now: What do you guys want to build? Let's get it narrowed down to 3 or 4 choices and go from there.
Stay Sharp, Capt. Chris
