I make a point of not asking for autographs. However, I had Buzz Aldrin sign my dive log as my dive buddy after we did our first scuba dive together in the Bahamas.

No autograph, but Dale Evans was my Dad's 2nd cousin. She babysat him and my uncle several times at family reunions back in the 1930's.

She had a small scar above her right eyebrow from a rock thrown at her by my Dad.

When she was in our town during a revival back in the 1970's she ask about my uncle which she also babysat for, but not my Dad.

Go figure.

Hey Tom: We were at Linden that night also!!

It was the first time I'd seen Guy since he and Townes Van Zandt used to make the rounds through Nacogdoches when I was a student there at SFA back in the 70s.

He and Verlon Thompson put on a good show that night and played both "Let Him Roll" and "Randall Knife" which was unusual since both have the same tune. He even said so after multiple requests from the audience to play "Let Him Roll".

I never even thought about getting his autograph but I sure wish I had!

That was a great night Coach.

Here are two photos from the show.

Guy and Velon and another of Verlon and a young warrior just back from Iraq. I was a guest of his family and stayed in their home in Linden that night.

Looking at my post, that may have been two different performances at Linden, unless Verlon went backstage and changed shirts................

Hey Tom:

I'll look & see if I can find any photos. I've been through a couple of phones since then and a couple of hard drive crashes on my computer.

It was a great night! We went to eat a steak over in Avinger (which has the best steaks in East Texas) before the show. It was the first time I had been to Music City Texas and the first time I had seen Guy since the 70s.

I've been back there to see Robert Earl Keen a couple of times and Chris Knight.

It is a great Venue.
