The Randall Catalog/Manual says 20 degrees for all Randalls.
Maybe some will have a slightly different opinion?

I prefer 20-30.
I think, you have to test it!

I think the edge bevel angle depends on the use that you plan for your knife. A utility knife needs a larger (more blunt) angle to preserve its cutting edge in tough materials. Special uses may require something much thinner. For example, the Model 1 that I carried in Germany was sharpened with a fairly thin edge to maximize its edge sharpness. There was always someone who asked "How sharp is that knife?"--- my left forearm was usually bare due to my giving a demonstration of shaving the hair off. This was a fighting knife and its edge requirements were somewhat unique.

Regards, Neil

I do it at about 20, free hand on a norton professional 3 stone system, just like the shop.
