Gentlemen,
I suspect that your grievance has less to do with which forum the contest is held and more about the new format and judging.
As we have discussed, the charter of the Edo contest has always been to encourage, promote and acknowledge "excellence in knife photography" which, when executed critically but fairly, has the benefit of illustrating what comprises a good image. The old system had deteriorated into a popularity contest controlled by a small but effective group of voters. By communicating privately and voting as a block, on occasions with multiple member names (and votes) from the same individual, this clique would "throw" the contest to whomever in the group was next in line to win the prize and the erroneous acknowledgement of having submitted the most technical and creative image.
With the changes the Edo contest is now back on track. We are fortunate indeed to have Jim Gates, Dr. Ken Lunde and contest founder Edoardo Garofoli assuming the responsibility of judging the entries on their technical and creative merits according to the rules. The integrity, fairness and technical acumen of our trio of judges is beyond reproach. I know we all offer them our thanks for accepting this challenging task.
