...just adding my 'Denmark Special' to the thread....blade is 3-5/8" long. I had never heard of this blade length...but the smooth button sheath from the early 90's is stamped 'DS'....anybody else have one of these short bladed Denmark Special's ? smile

Hey Steve...

The sheath it came with is stamped on the back 'DS'... and the blade has a longer choil than the GTR...could be that it was dis-continued in this blade length because of the GTR model. Maybe DW will fill us in. smile

Congratulations!! Very nice DS!
I guess you got it from Miles. I was about to buy it but you were faster than me.
The shorther blade DS is mentioned here:

....yeah I got it from Miles, one thing I've learned is that if you see anything you're interested in on Miles Welze's site....go for it, 'cause they don't last long. grin

Denmarks were originally shorter and came in a Randall stamped sheath without the DS. Later examples of the first blade length were stamped as you can see my Rex's knife (very nice example). I have an earlier one, which I will try and dig up after I get fully un-packed from "the move".
Later on Denmark settled on the blade we know today, i.e. 4 1/2" length. It was also used (after Denmark closed it's doors) as an RKS "Club" knife before it was added to Randall's "Non Catalog" line-up.
Best, Capt. Chris

I know maybe you think this is a stupid question but I ask any how, why is this model named Denmark? Denmark is my neighbour country. :-)
