Would the someting stange be the placement of the "S" and the Randall stamp seems to be a little deeper making it look like it is in an Oval? Still, nice "stag"

Yep, the Randall logo and "S" seem to be in a depressed oval.
Nice Knife!!! Like the matching hilt/butt cap.

Here is a photo of the #25 that tunefink posted on the "for sale" forum.
I noticed the same phenomenon.

Although that is different (the deep stamping) I was referring to the brown stitch sheath. I thought this was only from 98-99 but maybe this was one of the “in the back bottom of the bin” sheaths? I guess since the fire happed they probably used up all of the stock and found one from 10 years ago?

Jesse, didn't even notice the sheath was concentrating on the knife. But yes, you are right, brown stitched sheath is unusual for a current production model from what I've read and been told.

You are both correct. A brown stitched sheath was used because of the shortage and we also now have a new stamp that arrived with a pronounced "ring" around the trademark.

OK, a new reason to have a duplicate of all the stainless Randalls I already have!

and so begins the saga of the "rare"..."PRE-RING" stamping! I might as well name it now...It's coming. Best, Capt. Chris

Tony-Every Randall you own is a one of a kind. There is not another one in the world exactly like it and each one is a work of art. But then I am probably not telling you anything you didn't already know.

Regards,
Doug
