Tom (& all),
The RMK #11-4" and the RMK #22-4 5/8" are the only 2 hunting knives, in 3/16" blade stock, that can be ordered with FG's.
FYI
Stay Sharp, Capt. Chris

I like Duke’s ideas for an old style 8. I had one, but my daughter likes stag Randall’s. So, I could use another.

Captain mentions a small SSP. My boys liked mine , so I could use another one.

Has anyone mentioned the Old Nordic Special? The #11 3 1/4 inch.

This is looking like a great build in the making.

It's pictured, along with the 4" Model #11 in my post.

Apparently...there is "some" interest for this build...not a lot, but "some"? I'm rather surprised at the majority seeming to want a 3/16" stock knife for a "BY-GOD-SERIOUS" hunting knife as it falls way short on black or brown bear, elk, etc...and big boar hogs..."BUT"...It's your build.
How 'bout this: Pic a couple of blade stocks from both widths and we'll "whittle"?
Sound good to you?
Let's hear from you,
Capt. Chris

Of all my Randalls, the one I come back to the most often is my Old Style Model 8. It was one of my first Randalls and just seems to do all the camp/trail/hunting/fishing tasks just right.

Is there anything better than a Model #23?

1/4” option: 3-5 or 3-6 Hunter (I figure Bo knew best).
3/16” option: Denmark Special

I try to not be long winded BUT it sometimes just seems I “have a lot to say,” soooo…..
I do tend to agree with Larry re: big chunks of stag with smallish blades…..they just don’t match up. I do love slab sides of stag however, and especially on Cattleman and Stan. Sp, (in fact sent ya’ an email recently Cap. re: possibly ordering one of your Specials). It’s difficult for me to think about carrying “too much” knife on my belt, but do pretty much always have a larger “Camp” (#15 or #18) and/or “Skinner” (#20) and/or small “hatchet” in my pack. Field dressing game in my life thus far has only added one blackie on top of the mountain of whitetails and realistically at this point I don’t see any Brownies, Moose, polar bear or other “big game” being added to the pile even though VA stocking Elk in Southwest VA is seeming more successful than I expected. I still don’t see it being (&HOPE it will NOT) be as successful as their wild Turkey stocking has become. The other small folder I’ve carried in my pocket for over 45+ years is my Case, 3 blade Stockman, given to me by my dad, and with which I completely field dressed, suitable for dragging over a mountain mile, the 2nd buck I ever took. Ever since then that knife has always cut first on each deer to remove and place into ziplocks the swollen, dripping tarsal glands so as to not taint the meat.
So, while I absolutely do not mind participating in (&/or winning) a Build for a BIG,
“By-GOD Serious-Ass Hunting” knife, I’d like to narrow it down to a do whatever you want, slab-sided Stanaback Special as I’m certain it’ll do everything I’ve done quite well and ALSO be more than satisfactory for going places I’ve yet to be.
And I really am TRYING to be less long winded.
