So, I see that the Captain sold an old style model 8 on his web site. My old style model 8 is now part of my daughter’s Randall collection. She likes stag Randalls. She has both model 8 styles and likes them both. She really likes the top sharpened edge on the old style when she is doing field work (environmental scientist).

Who has the old style model 8? And how do you like it?

Alan

Use a Model 8-4x as an EDC. Love it! It can be worn on my belt or dropped into a pocket on a pair of cargo shorts. Up for any task, indoors or outdoors.

One of a very few, "Florida Cracker" knives, made with Lignum Vitae from the Florida Keys. (You had to be native Floridian/"Cracker") to order one.
Stay Sharp, Capt. Chris

Whenever I see a knife with a Lignum Vitae handle I think of Dubie Baxter. I'm pretty sure he was a genuine Floridian/"Cracker". Many years ago Dubie and I met in Titusville to see Perry Miller and Dubie had a box in his trunk full of Lignum Vitae blocks. RIP to both of them.

The captain sold a bunch of his famous dealer specials using this wood at one of the blade shows about 10 years ago. I have one in my collection.

That's a beautiful piece of ivory.is that little bit of tan a shadow or is that part of the grain?

I miss Dubie,he gave me a couple of blocks of that same Lignum Vitae,I’ve still got them.
On every visit to Florida I made I’d meet up with him in Winter Haven and he’d let me buy him breakfast smile
