Can you order a different shaped handle on the small gambler, such as a single finger grip, or a model 22 style crowsbeak? Thanks.

The Capt will chime in soon, but I have never seen one as you're describing.

Go to the "Knives of the week, Models 1-28" thread just down from this one, and click on the "Gambler". There are about 15 pages of discussion and photos of the Gambler with different handle material, but be aware that the older models may not be used a "pattern" for a current production "Gambler".

Kinda like requesting a "Brass-back Bowie; Not possible.

Trying to be sure about various hilt options!
Assuming a model 1, is a BH2 (#14) Brass #14 style hilt available at no cost?

How about NS2 (#14) chargeable at $30?

On a model 3, is a BH2 (#14) Brass #14 style hilt chargeable at #20? NS2 (#14) at $30?

If you add holes to the above knives is this a second charge to the model 14 hilt? ($25?)

Brent,
The is Capt. Chris and I apologize for not answering your question earlier. I just returned from whitetail hunting season in Alabama and am just now getting to all of my "back" emails and forum "stuff"!
Yes: You can order handle and butt cap options on a Small Gambler and even get a #22 handle shape. You cannot add a crows beak butt cap however. Scott explained this is not possible due to a centering problem with the tang.Sorry for the confusion and I hope this helps, Capt. Chris

Hi everybody.
I do have 2 questions.
The first is about the F sheath. I have to say that I love that model. Does anyone know if it is possible to have it with the 25-6? Or is it only available with the 25-5?
The second one is about the model 19. I discovered on the forum that some lucky guys have a 6" blade version of this model. Is it still possible to ask for such a version of the model, now?

Thanks for the replies

"NO"...on both counts, sorry. Model #25-6" sheaths are of the Model "A" type. They can be ordered with or without the hone pocket, left or right-handed, tan, waxed or black leather.
Hope this helps, Capt. Chris

Lugged Hilt Questions
Over time there appears to be at least 3 sizes of lugged hilts on Randall knives. Maybe even 4 if you include the very massive one on the Smithsonian.

What is currently available?
Examples: Older Model 1's have a very small lugged hilt(about 2 ricasso heights between lugs with small lugs).
newer Model 1's seem to run about 3 ricasso heights with larger lugs.
Sometimes the lugged hilts look a little oversized on model 1's & 2's.

Is there only one size for most knives? About what is the lugged guard height used on the model 1's & 2's for current production?

Great question, here are 2 lugged hilt Model 1's made about the same time period. Is there a reason for the different size, other than they are custom made?
