Long, hot, steamy summer going on and I'm ichtin' to build something! Thought you might have some input on this. Let's put together a nice knife but limit our selection to:
* Either a "non-catalog" model
* Or a Stanaback Special
I'm not caring about putting a bunch of limitations on this..."BUT"...(There ya' go)...let's make it something with a some customization to it! In other words: "Not" a Triathlete or Tailors or anything that we would be handcuffed as to some latitude in the final product.

While that a great knife Pappy, it REALLY hampers the custom build aspect.

Denmark (4.5") or GTR (3.5"), I like that grind and the 3/16" blade material.

GTR comes in stainless by default, so there's an option saved.

I've got a kewl Denmark comin my way... but I wouldn't hate either model as they are 2 of my favorites! And Rob's call on the Stainless dies not suck, neither does a little cash offset from loosing the stag...as I'm sure this build will end up in some killer optional handle material.

Advantages to these
* GTR: Stainless blade and a stag handle are @ N/C
* Denmark: #6 blade grind and stag are @ N/C
* Sergeants: Thumb notches are @ N/C
* Stanaback: Dealer forging, special blade shape, BCP, T, Stainless and TN are @ N/C (Well I'm charged but all is included in the base price.)
A & B have stag standard...C & D have leather handles...

Good morning members,
Thanks to Billy for getting this leg of the relay started. As to blade preference, it depends upon your needs. "Both" have 1/4" blade stock. "Both" work on game and camp tasks just fine.
The 4" version is far superior as an EDC. Shorter blade length, along with a more compact sheath design, attribute to it's being the best choice..."on your hip".
The 4 5/8" is more "Butch" and with it's designed sheath, intended for in-field use on game, would make a great camp/game knife! It all depends on your most-wanted needs.
Safe queen? OK: Then it doesn't matter.

* BCP (Bowie clip point)
* TB (Top bevel sharpened
* TN (Thumb notches
* 4 5/8 " blade length
* 1/4" blade stock
* Oxblood sheath withe EZE-Lap diamond sharpener (Located on front sheath panel in a tube pouch)
.....*NOTE" If you live in a state that does not allow a "TB" we can request no sharpening. Also: If we build a double hilt, the "TB" will be eliminated.
...Countless options are available but:
* No sawteeth
* No full, exposed tang
* No "C" style sheath
...Don't laugh: I've had requests for all-of-the-above in the past. I'm sure there are a few more exceptions but a good many options can be utilized. Let's see where this thing goes!

No doubt, Nickel Silver hilt it is! Let's move on...or in this case..."backwards" toward the ass-end of this knife. "NOW" we can discuss:
* Spacers
* Handle
* " shape
* Butt cap (or not)
* Etc...
One note before we go any farther: CW is a possibility but I am currently over 2 years out on CW, stemming from the enormous amount of orders at Blade and the recent AGCA show. I have no problem making this SSP in CW...It's just going to take 5-6 times longer than with shop-supplied material.
As some may know already, authorized dealers are limited to 20% (total) of our orders to be made in CW...Thus the "wait".
