In the last couple of months I bought my first 5 Randall knives, most of which are 7 inch blades plus.
This Model 24 I want to love it but somehow I don't.
So I decided to let it go (this is not a for sale post) but before doing that I would like to learn about its possible age and why the sheath is dark brown. I haven't been able to find this of color sheath and thread color online.

Your comments are much appreciated.

Thank you,
Steve

Looks like somebody either:
Dyed the sheath..."or"...
Sweated it up good by just carrying the crap outta' it!
Just a guess...or 2,
Nice knife, Capt. Chris

Looks to me like it spent many hours as someone's boot knife.

I can't tell for sure , but it looks like a brown stitched sheath which someone applied something that darkened the leather and some of the stitches. We used brown thread from January 1998 through midway through 1999.

I like the color, if that is from carrying it, is none the worse for the wear.
