Who has bought a box of any kind of ammunition this year? If you did, how much of your retirement fund did it cost?

I've made a few trades....can't afford to buy, and have more since...given some away, to needy folks....at this point, you got what you got....AND, for the folks that say "I can't get any ammo" yes you can, all you want to pay for.

IMO everyone should reload. You can tailor your loads to whatever you want. I used to use my 30-06 to shoot everything from rabbits to moose. All with hand loads.
Now I only shoot a .243 and handguns.
I am good for ammo for years.

I have a supply of "smoke stuff" but now prefer to use my high end air rifles.

Pellets galore.......no problem.

Rod,
What you say is true..."BUT"...reloading presses, dies, case trimmers, powder scales, powder, primers and tips are 100% out-of-stock with any supplier I have checked with. It's far..."FAR"... easier to find ammo, at least currently.
Best...(& keep your powder dry),
Capt. Chris

Capt

Understand what you are saying about presses, case trimmers, etc. and agree. I have been reloading for 35+ years. Mostly because of it being cheaper for me. In a “normal” year I will shoot 8K-10K handgun rounds a year. I/we went through these shortages a few years ago. After that I suggested and helped friends get into reloading as I (lucky) guessed that shortages would happen again.
For us that shoot more than a few boxes a year, when components become available again ( and they will), think about taking the financial plunge to alleviate going through this scenario again.

I bought 100 rounds of .223 JHP for $119 shipped last week.

It was 55 grain and I would rather had 62 grain for hogs but I can’t find any.

Rod,
I "plunged" decades ago, having an RCBS "Rockchucker" and all the trimmings. I was just stating the current conditions for those seeking to get fully involved.
Thanks...and shoot straight!
