I am going to shift to long guns for a moment, the groundhogs will be out soon and I will try to take a few, just to get a chance to shoot my bench rifle, It is good to 400 yards if I can hold steady, not so easy to do at my age, but I shoot off a rest so that helps. This has a Timminy double set trigger, when you set the trigger all you have to do it just put a shadow on the front trigger and it is gone, first time I shot it, it scared me. It has the Mauser action and either a Douglas or Schilling barrel, the man I bought it from couldn't remember which as he was way up there in years and had had so many built he just couldn't remember.

Nice rig Sidney,
Looks like a Model 98 (short for 1898) Mauser military action, which has been sporterized...(Safety has been modified to operate with a riflescope. The forend and pistol grip are rosewood? Austrian flame maple stock? Maybe a Pachmayer (or Browning) recoil pad?
Impressive!
Best, Capt. Chris
