I have a S&W 629 Alaskan Backpacker with a ported barrel, and Hogue Grips.
I bought it from a friend years ago and he included a David Johnston Guides Choice Chest Holster with Reload, that he bought from David at the Tulsa Show.
I started wearing it when I was fly fishing along some of the streams and rivers in the Colorado back country.
I have since taken it with me whenever I am heading out to isolated areas.
David Johnston started Diamond D and I have always thought it was the best holster I have for comfort and accessibility.

The Diamond D Guide Chest holster is certainly the easiest to assemble, most comfortable, and able to go over any outer clothing, making it accessible. Much more so than the older under arm, concealed rigs.

Pap,
I agree with you on that, plus the quality of the Diamond D rigs is superb.

A few years ago they made a butt stock shell carrier in 16 gauge for my barely legal Stevens single shot.

A number of years ago (many) while on patrol,I saw the butt stock of what I thought was a discarded BB gun sticking out of a dumpster.

Further inquiry showed it to bde the above mentioned Stevens shotgun.

I checked the files for any stolen/missing Stevens or 16 ga guns and kept it in found inventory for the required time, then took possession of it.

I then lathe turned the bbl back to 18 1/4 inches, installed an XS night sight on it,refinished it and then later added the butt stock shell carrier,as well as a nylon sling and swivels.

50 yard groups with slugs are quite decent.

Sounds like a neat shotgun. I have a no name 18.5" 20ga single shot that I carried on my Arctic Cat snowmobile to shoot coyotes, but I like my 16ga Savage A5 patent for my all around shotgun.

Back when I was still mad at the east Texas deer population, here was my "gonna get'em" hand gun. The barrel was originally a 30 Carbine and was rechambered by a gunsmith in Dallas to .300 Savage. I worked up my hand load a little at a time until I got it right and safe. For a handgun it would drive tacks out to 100 yards. Please do no use the loading data you see in my photo.

Santa brought me this Single Shot Savage/Stevens 12ga. when I was 12 years old so that I could have my own gun to quail hunt with my Dad.

The barrel is 20" Full Choke and will handle 3" Magnums.

I used to carry it on my gun rack in the rear window of my pickup during High School and College. (Wouldn't work nowadays; and yes I was a REDNECK!)

I did kill my first 6 deer with it.

Tom,
Super nice Contender. I have one with three extra bbls.

Coach,
Really nice 12 ga there! Super nice and simple,I bet it works every time!!!!

Pap,
You have a coyote problem out your way? Huge problem here.

Large den off of School Road in your old home town. Could hear them howling all night long. Lots of missing Fido and Fluffy complaints there.

Yes, we have a predator problem period here in Idaho. Bears, mountain lions, wolves and coyotes. Coyotes like more open county and in the spin when the snow is crusty, we would go 'yote hunting on snowmobiles.
