Close. Leupold 1.5-5x Vari X-3.
The stock is a Clifton Arms composite back before synthetic stocks were mass-produced. I sent the barreled action to them for fitting.
I also had another 600 Mohawk in 308, same setup but it had a bi-pod that folded up and slid into the forend of the stock. A doctor in town saw it and had to have it. I could not refuse.
Funny thing. I think the Mohawks were produced to sell in discount shops like Western Auto and such. It has a "bull barrel" compared to the other 600's. It's a really cool little rifle.

Another kind of ammo...

“Way back when”…I came up with this for a different kind of “hunting.”

XM29 and XM25.

The various engineers made it work, but it turned out to be too bulky and the troops did not want to trade out a rifle in order to carry it at squad level.

Thinking it won’t ever make it to the civilian market except in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.

But also thinking that Coach might use one for all those hogs!

To me, "XM25" was around in the late 80s/early 90s. It was based on the M14 with a handful of bolt-ons/mods from Brookfield Precision Tool (BPT).
