Briefly, My neighbor who is 80+ years old has asked me to help him do the computer stuff and possibly sell his knife collection on EBAY. We are starting with this one.

I have tried to research this myself but I am lost.

I cannot find an exact match to this knife and I am really confused when it comes to the inserts or spacers(?).

And I cannot find any reference to a sheath having initials.

Thanks!

Jeff

Do the knives have sheaths with them?

I would like to thank everyone for the information so far and for the emails.

A few more questions. The handle has what appears to be wood grain. But in another forum someone talked about micarta(?). Any ideas?

Secondly, should I try to polish up the brass piece in the middle before selling?

Thanks Again!!

Jeff

It's micarta. Looks good, just the way it is. It should come in a RMK sheath with the initials LS on the back of it.
Hope this helps, Capt. Chris

If you open the 4th link in the original post, you will see a partial pic of the sheath that is indeed marked LS.

Last update for this knife. After speaking with my neighbor he wants it on EBAY. I have created the listing and it will go live at 10 PM EST tonight (Monday).

He and I have no idea of the value so it has a high (in my opinion...his call) "buy it now" price but we are accepting offers.

Thanks everyone!
