Hi Guys
I recently received this knife from maker John Doyle in Michigan. He has made several other knives for me over the years but this is my first Damascus from him The blade and guard are 1084 and 15n20 Damascus and the handle is checkered ironwood. Sheath is from Claude Scott, but will have to check what the inlay is.
I really like his style.

Peter

That's a really detailed build, I like.

That is a great looking knife, but the checkering is beyond words. I am the worlds biggest fan of checkering on wooden handled knives.

A lot of talent, hard work, and patience went into that knife!!!

Well done!

Thanks Rob, Rod and Coach

John Doyle's work just seems perfect to my eye the first time I saw some of his knives, and I knew I had to get some, and I haven't been disappointed

Rod, I will have to post my checkered handle Randall model 5 collection. (Just kidding, if I had that you would be breaking into my house smile )

Great knife Peter. What's on the end? Is it pre-drilled for a compass or something or am I missing something else?

Thanks Cap
The thing on the end is a recessed Damascus nut that holds the handle on. I am not sure how he tightens it as there is nothing visible
