My first attempt at knife re-handle. Took a leap of faith to cut-up my trusty Triathlete I had been carrying for six years. Without a mentor it took more thinking than actual doing. Learned new skills and appreciation for those who do it for a living. I feel like I have been given the "key to the candy store" as I can now produce my own personal preferences. Of course I made a new JLL highrise sheath to go with it!

Thank you for the comments. Here was an o'sh_t moment. Just finished rough shaping and feeling good about the rounded butt cap. Then I looked at the guard and thought well now this is going to be interesting! Lots of room for error. You can take it off, but you can't put it back on.

I like your statement "first try" That's a very impressive "first try" sir. Very well done! I especially like the peened butt cap.

New2Randalls (Dan). Thank you for your encouragement. Not peened. Actually an inverted acorn nut ground and polished.

Are you using a knife tool to cut wood? Why not use other tools like jigsaw and circular saw. See here the using benefits of circular saw.
