Personally, I love a drop point for gutting and skinning, but also remember that the old buffalo hunters used an up sweep Green River shaped like a banana, very similar to the Rick Bowles Special. To me, any up sweep type blade is much harder to sharpen once dull. That's why I use a steel quite often just like butchers.

Pap,

I'd take this one to any skinning party. That deep belly gives you the entire edge to work with.

breast out the ducks my buddy and I killed.

Agreed, that would work on any critter but maybe a squirrel. A beauty.

Good thing I like squirrel's, Pap. I really don't like Alvan, Simon and Theodore. They drive us nuts, PITA.

I thought you get them fat, then help them into the squirrel stew, lol. Pets don't count.

There's probably a few locals that subscribe to that theory Pap.
Even road kill don't stand a chance.

LOVE the 20 and 11 in tool steel. Nothing either one cant do from gutting, skinning, and trimming wild game. Everything from small game to Elk. Can't beat a good Randall!
