I now have 2 from this company and they are by far, the premier cow hide providers around. Highly recommended.

Very good prices Pap. I bought one at a local fair several years ago, a light tan with white patches. I recently gave it to a family member who just bought a new home and had a perfect use for it.

Along those lines, sort of.

I have an elk hide with the hair on, and also a black bear rug.

Any suggestions as to how to best sell them?

Probably Ebay would be the best, just add enough shipping and boxing to cover.

Interesting read. Has more to do with fashion interests and potentially sheath makers. Tanned cow hides with the hair on have always been higher priced since the method of tanning is different from hair off. The Brazilian tanning method is by far the best hair on method and can be used as rugs or cut for whatever. Mexican tanned hair on or off, is mostly crap.

That smell comes from the plant burning excess cowhides -- they're doing it pretty much every day that they're turning cows into carcasses.

20+ years ago, the Japs bought every cow hide produced to manipulate the market and hides went through the roof for a while.
