Salt water, Mirror Lure and Johnson Lure with pork rind, Daredevil Frog colored.

Pap,

Salt water Johnson Sprite, and Kastmaster were great casting lures for Blues and Bass. Trolling bluefish was great with just about everything.
Deepwater canyon fishing, anything green caught fish in daylight hours but early morning or late day purple and black was better.
Moldcraft Softhead 8" was my favorite. I caught more tuna and marlin on a cheap 8" lure.
Couple of 300# Bigeye Tuna and a 400# Blue Marlin top the list.

Meanwhile, inshore, we used a 2 hook spreader rig for flounder when I was a youngster. We would catch 2 of something more often than not. Not always what you wanted.

When I was a kid and my folks took us to Florida for spring break, all I had was a hand line and .50 cents worth of blood worms. I out fished the big boys with fancy rod and reels on shore. Mostly Blue fish. My parents were always amazed.

If you put an old shoe in the water with a hook in it a Bluefish would probably bite on it. Crazy, nasty, pound for pound fighters if there ever was one. A 12 pound bluefish will break your back.

Remember surf casting with a blue and white plug on Cape Cod in the fall. And watching the blues swim along the incoming waves to get hooked as I kept the plug suspended in the wave.

Fun days.

Larry

P.S.: Still think I should go back and try for a whopper striper.

Perch.

The lures in the photo are salesman samples. That's why there are no hooks or spinners.
