Pappy:

That Toms jar came out of Ted’s Barber Shop in my hometown. My Bride uses it for her kitchen decor.

We would pour those peanuts into our ice cold Coca Cola bottles and enjoy while we waited our turn to get our haircut.

Coach

Ps. Do you recognize the bottle that the Pepper Sauce is in?

It does look familiar but can't place the origin. That vinegar and peppers, make for great purple hull peas, but my favorite is cream peas.

Coach!!
made some cornbread Sunday night!!
I keep a little out, on the counter to "munch" on form time to time...it dries out a little(which I like)...I just cut off a chunk, and go about my business!!

Pappy:

That bottle is an old Jim Beam bottle. When they clean up the highway, I get them drop off all the whisky bottles at my gate.

I’ve got JB, Jack Daniels, Old Crow, Hiram Walker, Evan Williams, etc.

They make good bottles for pepper sauce, hot sauce, BBQ sauce, etc

Coach

PS Rocky: I can eat good cornbread 24/7.

I bet the neighbors raise their eyebrows when they see those at the gate!

LOL. That’s a good one!

I’m lucky if I get 2 or 3 each time.

Now when I was in college back in the 70s, that’s what my front porch looked like on Sunday mornings!

What a bountiful summer so far. Been freezing & canning everything I can; tomatoes, blueberries, blackberries, half-runner beans, apples, sweet corn, & peaches. Had to eat a few peach pies and tonight my beautiful wife made a cobbler. And you can't top Virginia Peanuts. Even managed to put away a few potent quarts combining corn & peaches using my grandfathers specific recipie. How sweet it is!

That is some good-lookin’ stuff you got there.

Canning your own stuff is fun and satisfying.

Eatin’ it is even better!

Thanks for taking time to post it.

Duke that is some good looking stuff. I use to do all that but now that there is just me it is not worth the time or trouble although I did enjoy doing it. Made lots of jelly also. Sampled lots of grandpa's also but had to out source that.
