The fibers would have to match the hilt in size, therefore the stag would have to be reduced to the size of the fibers. IMO....

Just because I have posted, and have a differing opinion, does not mean I am right. Nor does it mean that I own, or do not own this knife. We all love Randalls and I only mean my differences as to pose another view. I think that Joe's answer is the most efficient; that is, once the knife is in hand would be the best way to evaluate the it for any experienced collector/dealer. Wishing everyone all the best, DR.

Sir, I'm trying to be diplomatic about this, but evidently you got screwed by someone who sold this to you as "original"...and now you are trying to pass it to some other person as such...maybe you have a bug in your ear telling you I'm dead wrong or you are just stubborn, but I know a little about putting knives together also and you are dead wrong about your claims on this particular blade. You need to send this back to whoever sold this to you and demand your monies back! Have them contact me and I'll tell them the same thing...

That knife has been the subject of several conversations over the last year or so.

Most believe the knife has been re-handled, me included..

No one has taken the time or risk to send it to Joe Dorsky for an authentication.

Daniel, based on the eBay handle it appears you are selling the knife. If you own it, I agree with Scott..... get a refund if you can.

the knife has had a stake driven in its heart... an almost unanimous "guilty"! Two options:

leave it up and try to trick an unsuspecting buyer, or...

send it to Joe to try to have the verdict overturned.

Very knowledgeable people have come to same conclusion on the handle .
IMO the right thing to do is send Joe the knife so it can be put to rest .

We are not talking about a $50 or $100 purchase . Not doing that at this point is to misrepresent what it actually is , and "trick" a buyer .

My other concern is the deep grinding on top edge that goes into the Randall stamp . I doubt that was shop done .

I am going to end the eBay sale and try to get a refund for the knife by referring the Seller to these forum pages, and my auction page. In the meantime if anyone buys the knife I will forthwith return their money and refer them to this forum. If the person from whom I bought the knife does not refund the money to me, I will then disclose the name of the Seller on this forum. With best regards, Dan F.
