I recently acquired this knife that is clearly stamped FRAZIER. What's odd about it is that on the one side, I can faintly see where the name FRAZIER was stamped inverted, and then stamped over the other way. If you look closely at the pic of the stamping you can see part of the Z and the R. Can anyone explain that? Also, do you believe this is a Ron Frazier knife? There is a letter S stamped on the butt. I have no idea what that signifies.

Looks like Ron Frazier's earlier Logo before he went to the arched R. A. Frazier Logo. He passed away on his 71st birthday in Nov. 2011.
You might ask Rick Bowles, who was a friend of his.

Thanks Dave. I agree it appears to be his earlier logo as I have seen pics of his work with that exact logo. I am equally curious about the inverted stamping and the significance of the S letter. This knife is in superb condition and has a great heft and feel to it. Unfortunately Rick is not accepting PMs.

I am not sure about the overstamp or the "S" on the butt.
Jeff Stover, a dealer in custom knives, responded to my question about the different logos with:

"He used both Logos. I’ve had knives over the years with both. He told me back in early 2000s at the blade show."

Thanks for comments and info. I contactd Rick Bowles and he was not familiar with with logo as shown in my pic. He also said it was unusual to have the logo on both sides (mine does). He doesn't think it is a Ron Frazier knife. He says the S on the butt might be for Stainless.
