According to RMK homepage introduced during the period of 1962-67, probably at least one of the earliest hollow handle knives made. Maybe THE 1st hollow handle knife.

Mine is the 7.5" blade version. I bought it from a fellow collector and got it with 3 butt caps. The standard brass one, a stainless steel cap which is not shown at the pics below and the stainless steel skull crucher cap. All 3 of them with compass inside. Comparing the smaller compass of the brass cap with the other two, I would say the larger ones are more useful. Except that discussion about whether the stainless steel caps are maybe not ideal for placing a compass inside. Anyway.

I wanted to wrap the handle and choosed paracord type I (sometimes called "micro paracord". For the sheath and the butt cap I used paracord Type II (paracord 425). Color is F.S. Navy.

A few pics together with a Chris Reeve hollow handle knife, the Mk IV anniversary knife, which marks the end of the "One Piece Knife" range of Chris Reeve in 2010. Both knives have their own elegance, I would say. In terms of the hollow handle construction I think Chris Reeve took the the idea to the next level, in terms of stability, by making the complete knife out of one piece of steel, without any mechanical connection between blade and handle. I love both of them.
