Dang so many decisions. I hate to show my ignorance but what is the difference between hammermark and convex?

Hammermark, copper, primary spacers - maroon and copper.

I like Steve's idea but not 100% sold on the spacers yet. Hammermarked blade and copper is a go.

Steven,

Convex grind has no bevel. It has a gentle curve from spine to cutting edge. It really produces a razor thin sharp edge. Being a camp knife, the traditional bevel would be a better choice especially if any chopping involved. Just my opinion a stronger edge.

IF I understand properly, it's basically "hammermark vs. no hammermark".

Here's one from their website that doesn't have hammer marks: https://www.behringmade.com/collections/online/products/scagel-style-xl-hunter

Please pitch next vote factors:

Hammermark or Convex

Copper, Nickel, Brass, or Blued Guard (which also dubs the blade for bluing, so if you want that finish this is for you)

Primary spacer theme color?

Exotic spacer?

Hammermark

Copper guard for that old-school look.

Copper, red, black spacers (nine of them, at least)

no exotic spacer, handle is fairly exotic as it is.

Rob,

The hammermarked blades are all bevel ground (flat where hammermarked). Yes the one you linked is a bright convex grind; no bevel.
