Had at least 100 head of elk in my back yard tonight.

Thanks for the treat Pap, how lucky are we that we have you. Many of us can only dream of this experience.

We have this herd almost all year. Except for about 3 months of snow, they are here either in our back yard or the neighbor's. A late draw in our unit for cow or bull is pretty much guarantee. I drew on the late whitetail buck deer this year, but not elk. The general hunt for bulls starts next week.

Mike

I echo Warren's words. I would love to live in such a great place with wildlife so close.
Magic!!

Yes, we are very lucky to live here in Garden Valley at The Village subdivision. A very small log home only subdivision, not in the timber, so no fire hazard. We have our own 30,000 gallon gravity feed water system with fire hydrant. Our HOA dues include all irrigation, mowing, and snow removal. I can throw a rock and hit the #12 T box of our Terrace Lakes Country Club, which also has a year round geothermal Olympic swimming pool. We have 2 rivers, the Middle Fork and South Fork of the Payette River. Fishing is fair, but the rafting is superb. Garden Valley is 50 miles from Boise and another 20 minutes to the airport. We are centrally located from 2 major ski areas, Brundage and Bogus. I have lived and worked in Idaho since 1969, and can't think of a better located place to live. Our home is at 3400 feet, so we do get snow from mid November to March. Snowmobile from my house for 60 miles in any direction if I want. For us, this is paradise. There are 11 cabins and 4 lots still for sale.

Yes, the Garden Valley Sportsmans group developed a really nice rifle, pistol and skeet range complete with covered shooting areas. Its close to our grass airstrip. During the non snow seasons, they have skeet shooting every week.
