Last summer I got lucky while sitting on the beach one morning and saw an osprey swoop down and catch a fish and then an eagle came in out of nowhere and started swooping on the osprey apparently trying to get him to drop the fish. Eventually the osprey dropped the fish and the eagle swooped down, picked up the fish and flew off. Really cool "dogfight" between the eagle and osprey. But, I was pulling for the osprey because I just hate a thief. ;-)

New York State reintroduced Bald Eagles from Alaska in the late 70's/80's and they are thriving. More than doubled the number of Eagles in the state over the last 20 years and are projected to increase by 10% per year.

While hunting in the Adirondacks about 6-7 years ago while up in my tree stand an immature Bald Eagle landed on a branch less than 8 feet from me. I didn't move a muscle and enjoyed the company for more than a minute.

Now you can find Bald Eagles in every corner of the state.

Thanks, Marty

Pierre, an old GM shop rat told me that comb-over joke years ago. Yes, Pierre had the best comb-over ever.

Recently did a tour of the Kennedy Space Center. Saw a bunch of Bald Eagles hovering overhead and the driver of the bus tour out to the different launch pads even pointed out an Eagles nest that had been active for over 20 years. Between the alligator's, wild pigs and Bald Eagles, we almost forgot about the cool space X and NASA sights. We have a lot of Wild Turkeys here in Michigan, glad Mr. Ben Franklin didn't get his way.
