While I was getting this outrageous FWI tusk at Blade, Chief was busy looking for Kit blades. I think Tune had a hand in that part, LOL.
It didn't take long and we both agreed this was a project we wanted to do together as brothers.
Here's a first look at the finished rehandled RMK Smithsonian blades.
Neither of us can decide which we like more.
We'll get back after leather at Warlander.
Gotta really thank Grant and James once again entertaining us through this process. You can't imagine the amount of behind the scenes stuff that makes it come together. Job well done BMK!

Talked with James & Grant about the 2 kit blades.
They are different time periods for sure,
it's not a photo illusion the grinds and size are different on these 2 blades.

Early 60's based on the sheath. It was a cool kit knife given the collar and butt.

The blade was not soldered to the hilt....and the hilt was loose.

James and Grant said the nut on the butt was glued on.

Back from Warlander. Amy hit it. Chocolate leather & Diamondback Rattlesnake, basket weave belt loop, canteen snap, not shown back side, leg tie loop.
Chief and I had a hard time deciding which one but I'm taking the tip and he's getting the copper butt. Both have incredible color.
Of course we both have visitation rights wink Thanks once again to James and Grant for making it happen.

Coach,

Amy could make it happen. Grant would be happy to help set it up. For a heavy blade, the canteen snap is the way to go.

The Tip got the 60s blade The full handled blade more like current production.

Also like I told Warren I think he has a better chance where he lives with tip than the full handle.

Well I gotta give credit where it's due. Chief had a great idea for zippered cases for this pair and Amy at Warlander delivered. Snake inlays to match the sheathes.
These pics from Missoula and more to come down the road. Great idea Bro and thanks again Amy for seeing it through.

Warren & Chief,

Well done-great idea and Amy did a fantastic job. The rattlesnake panes and basketweave leather is awesome! Overall one of the best projects we've seen.
