It definitely looks like it started life as a Model #5, to me, as well.
Best, Capt. Chris

I got that Mitchell..."BUT"...it looks, to me, to have started out as a #5 blade. "Afterwards"? Anybody's guess. Jack had the well-deserved reputation for muddying up H2O.
Just sayin', Capt. Chris

I believe the knife is legitimate. The knife Tune had was also mine that he purchased from me! as he has been trading with me for years. In hand it looks and I feel made by Randall.....it's way cool any way you take it.....:)

Sorry Cap, TAH asked if it was an old blade, used later. I was trying to clarify that.

It probably was shop made in the beginning and reshaped afterwards....that'as what I am hearing.

Tom, this knife appears to be, to those who know, a model #5 from the early eighties that has been altered to look like one of the 5 Soligen fighters that were made with a clip-point and a second false top edge (much like the RKS knife and 4-6F today), probably just because someone liked how it looked! Hope this clears this all up for you!
