Usually all or most models...
The number available just depends on what gets done with the available time to make them. Last year was small and with the shop further behind this years may not be huge either. But it will be fun no matter what!

Fregis, I've never been to a shop sale, but many here have. They may be able to give more detail, but I believe people start showing up verrry early, if not the night before. Someone from the shop hands out tickets, and that's how they keep up with "who's next" when they open for business.

You'll always find one that you didn't know about but now you can't live without.

and at Noon Sunday I could a been a #7

But its hard to sleep on a motorcycle
so I go home and come back after dinner
and the Old Lady says "where you goin with that pillow and blanket and I say the Randall Shop and she says take the garbage with you
A guy name Dave gives you a number and he don't work for the shop

We sit around and tell stories about knives and guns and
then sleep in our vehicles some campers, trucks and cars

at sun up we sneak into the orange grove to water the crops
and at about 15 before 7 we advance to the store
Dave conducts a civil order first 12 in then the next
I almost made the first cut but was like 14
and it seams the same guy always beats me there well mostly
the worst feeling is watching the guy infront of you buy your knife but its nice to see a newbie get what he never dreamed about
so I usually sneak in and take some pics so I can see what I'm missin

So is it worth it! Well if you want a 12-9 with a 14 grind or a Arkansas toothpick or some strange burly wood or crown stag

I doubt I will be able to actually make it in person anytime soon but how does the call-in work? I know you keep dialing 'till you make a connection but how do you know what to ask for? Do they keep naming what they have until you say "I'll take it?"

Jim, you need to ask for what you are looking for. Write down a short list of things you're interested in so you can expedite the process, and they in turn will tell you what they have that is similar.

In years past half the knives go to the cases for the walk ins and the other half are for the call ins. If you are going in person before 6:30am Monday, when you get there pull into the driveway and park your car at the back of the line and walk to the front and find the fine gentleman Dave with the note pad or find it on the first car and sign in. If you leave you will lose your place in line. Come early and come prepared to make new friends. At about 6:30am someone from the shop will open the gate so you can drive on back to the shop and park. Dave will give you a slip of paper with your # on it according to when you signed in. You will also be given an order form to fill out with your address and billing info. At 7:00am they will call #s 1-5 to go in and pick one knife, and then #6-10 gets their chance and so on. Once all #s have gone through once it will start over again till all knives are gone. The knives will be shipped to you in a few weeks. Call ins start at 7:00am. After you pick out your knife its then time to tour the Museum. Hope this helps.

Only the ones that missed their ideal knife are "mourning". For the rest, it's just morning! (Ha-Ha: You're busted)! I will be there around 6:30-7:00ish and look forward to seeing all of you. I will set up my usual small table outside for some "sharing" of stuff from my "STASH"!!

Some of our best grabs have been over the phone. Usually just hitting speed dial repeat. 1 year I got in in 7 minutes, another year my son got in after 2 or so hours.... However ended up with out best shop sale knife ever, He actually had Gary on the phone (poor Gary) 3-7/SS/NSh2/all blk sp/IV commando/NS rd BCap. Named it Cue Ball. Don't miss it!!!!!!

Any got in @ 7:12, my best ever time and scored the only Bowie they had, a 12-13 Thorpe with an ironwood handle and rounded ButtCap. Woohoo.

I got in by phone at about 7:40, and was surprised to find out that I could order more than one knife. Got a pretty Combat Companion, and a Model 1, both in nice stag. Don't currently own either one of these, so I'm stoked. Not quite the same as being there, like last year, but still pretty awesome.

We got to stop by Sullivan's shop and met Danny. Another thing that should be on your bucket list. Thanks Danny for taking the time to give us a tour and answering all of our question.
Went to dinner Saturday night with James and his beautiful wife Miss Becky at there favorite Greek restaurant. Great food and great company. Thanks again James.

I did not take any pics but I believe some were taken of my table. Perhaps those will be shared here. I thought this shop sale was the best one yet! I signed up "7" new RKCC members, had a great "show-n-tell" with all the "Happy Campers" and even wrote a little business!
My brass-backed Smitty lasted lees than 2 hours and will be hand-delivered to it's new home on Thursday! I urge all of you to try and make one of these events...(& it was terrific to see Valerie again)

I too was fortunate to get through after about 130+ redials (while walking home from night shift at the fire department) and best surprise of all, Valerie was on the phone!
Her patience and kindness are legendary indeed. She helped me adopt an orphaned Sergeant's Model with SS blade and black Micarta, BPH handle.
I neglected to request a no-hone sheath, but will inquire about that by separate correspondence.
Aren't April Mondays GREAT! Thanks again Valerie!

Shop Sale part two
Sunday is show and tell time and just a time to talk to old friends and make a few new ones.
There are certain dangers going to the shop sale. Mosquitos, maybe a wondering alligator, manhunts out on Orange Blossom Trail, and spending to much money on Monday. This year there was a new one. Bass bombs dropped by bald eagles.
Monday morning its time to get up nice and early and drive on back to the shop and wait your turn for the real fun to began.
James. I thought that photo looked familiar.
Snake. When I looked at that #7, I thought that D W said it was Blonde wood but looking back I realize that he might have said broom wood.

Got what I was looking for 12 minutes after the doors opened. Yes I missed the cigars, camaraderie, The Captain, and the mosquitoes ,"but" I got to sleep in till 7AM.
Bonus was Valerie answering the phone laughing cause the lights just went out. We had a great chat and then lit me up with 12-13 Thorpe.

Love the pics. Please keep them coming. I just got back from a cruise, and was unable to make it down this year. Looks like I missed a great one. Congrats to all who scored.

I finally am home long enough to take some quick photos of my shop sale knives, model 24 with birdseye maple and Denmark Special with the new Thula burl. Lighting was a bit bright but great knives from the craftsmen at the shop. Not even ironwood
