For those that love to crappie and bream fish, if you haven't tried the Salter pole setup, you are missing out. It is the "Randall" of fishing poles. All handmade and nothing else like it.

Enlighten me please Pap. Most of my fishing is with a fly rod, and most of that is with a 3wt for panfish and small pond bass.

Thanks for the recommendation Pap - I had not heard of the pole before. I do a fair amount of dock fishing for bream in SC and AL.

Have a good weekend,

Jay

The Salter jigging pole is an off shute of a fly rod and it is a proven inovation for panfish angling. Look them up on YouTube and watch how they are made and used.

Nice setup but my Loomis and Orvis graphite fly rods will do the same thing. Of course, for the fisherman that doesn't have "THOUSANDS" tied up in fly rods these are the BOMB!!
Thanks, Capt. Chris

Nice setup! Similar to a tenkara rod from the looks of it.

I'm with ya there Cap!! Would have been a LOT cheaper to go this route!

Got mine in the mail yesterday and I am very impressed. Looking forward to trying it out on some local farm ponds this spring.

How about some in action pics when you get a chance? You have plenty going these days, and I hope things work out well, but when you do get a chance to get out if you think of it.....

Yes, I didn't get a chance to fish at all last summer. I did get a weekend for the Idaho Knife Show. I am hoping I get some time to fish this spring or summer.

Nice catch. Lures or shiners?

He caught 'em all on a little white spinnerbait. (in about an hour)

It is supposed to get into the 80s today. I may see if I can outdo him after school today, if my wife don't beat me to it.

By the way, the Redbuds are in full bloom aound here.
