Jim,

I don't know who came up with the theme on the scrim and the engraving, but it's all simply amazing.
Beautiful isn't enough...
Thank-You for sharing this with us.

Thanks for the kind remarks. The scrim on top knife is called "Odin's Mask". The engraving continues the theme with Norse Runes and symbols.

Old myths tell that the Nordic godfather Odin sometimes wore a mask when facing potential opponents. This mask looked so dreadful that his adversaries often withdrew and therefore Odin didn't have to fight at all and could save up his power for more pleasant and profitable tasks. For this reason this image stands for craftiness and secrecy which is necessary to yield an advantage.

The bottom knife is called "The Hunt". It depicts an Orca whale hunt. The FWI is an artifact known as a net weight.

Excellent story Jim, mythology of any kind is great. Especially translated onto a knife, that was a great idea!
