I bought/acquired this folder at the Blade Show. It is made by Bret Dowell from Oklahoma. I have been fortunate enough to get a knife each year from him.

In my opinion, he does excellent work, for reasonable prices. This knife was patterned on a Case Seahorse Whittler, but this knife has only one blade. I picked out the Fossil Ivory at last years Blade Show.

OAL closed is 3 5/8". Blade length from the pivot 2 7/8"

Rod,
Good looking knife. I remember you talking about that maker at last years show. I think you introduced me to him IIRC.

What does the PROTO on the back side of the blade signify?

Rod,
Nice knife. I like the straight forward, simple design.

Thank you Michael and Tony for the kind words.

Michael proto means it is the first knife, of that design, that Bret has made. He did, at one time number his knives, but now only marks the first knife, of a particular design as proto.

Thank you Steve and Steven

I know this is a form of bragging, so I apologize in advance. Here are the Dowells I currently own. There is another one or two in the pipeline!
