BEAUTIFUL handle!
(I served 64-66)
Nice set-up Billy. Looks like a green tinge in the photo. May have to watch your white balance setting, depending on your lighting. To play it safe, some cameras have a "Average White Balance" setting, to cover all the bases.
I shoot all my photos in raw, or raw + large jpeg.
Its hard to beat Steve's outside results with his camera, though. Sometimes simpler is better.
(I served 69-72)
First post looked greenish.
Second post looked good.
(I served 65-70)

I will leave others to comment on the good or bad of the pic, what is the handle made of? It is very nice.

Looking good Billy.
The two best things that I learned in a Photo class I took years ago was to look at the entire frame and to get a great photo is to take a lot of photos, different setting and angles and one might be great. Much easer to do with digital then film.
Great to see you and Ken again. Stay safe.

Still working on my new computer.
Yeah...Until you get "back" your proper editing tools on your laptop and zero-in proper white balance settings your photos are going to continue to look "smokey". Keep pluggin' away Bro.

Re: Picture Test - 10/28/20 12:03 PM
put a white envelope (print down if used) just in the corner of the frame and try again.
If you've figured out cropping, you can put it in the frame for the shoot and crop it out before "going to print."

Trying another one with killer stag

Re: Picture Test - 10/28/20 02:48 PM
I used to use a Nikon D810 SLR for knife photos. It made great pics. Too good for the resolution on the internet. Overkill! People are using phones and tablets to view, not 60" HD TV's.
I now use my iPhone 10. It takes really good pictures. The exposure and white balance are automatic. You can edit, crop and correct right on the phone. It is also super easy to use them in emails and on social media like Facebook and Instagram.
I use wireless transfer to drop them into a folder on my Macbook Pro for long term storage.
It's great technoligy.
OK Bro,
Here's a "lil'-bit betta'" view.
Stay sharp, Capt. Chris

Re: Picture Test - 10/28/20 06:32 PM
do you have Photoshop Elements on your computer? It can make it pretty easy to modify lighting, white balance, size, etc.

Steve
I do not.My old computer is a Dell and the new is a HP.Big learning for me.

Re: Picture Test - 10/28/20 08:40 PM
Trying another one.I think I'm making progress!!!
I am going to try and see how these come out. I took most of them inside in poor light and holding the camera freehand. I was going to sell this knife but then I remembered I had a Gutcher highride sheath for a 5-4 left hand so it doesn't get in the way of my firearm. It also goes well with my Kimber Warrior! The stag on the 5-4 looks like it almost burnt.

Re: Picture Test - 11/02/20 08:06 PM
I don't see anything wrong with the picture or the hardware.
Back before I retired from the gun store .I sold more Kimber 1911]s than any other brand.I own several myself. My main carry
is a Pro Tactical.

Re: Picture Test - 11/02/20 08:31 PM
FYI Billy
Back in the early 2000's, Lucille and I were working a project in the Salt Lake area. One of the popular malls was the RR Station mall. On a Sunday afternoon a shooter started firing on the second floor. An off duty policeman moved within 30 feet, and with his Kimber 45, shot the perp in the head with one shot. No doubt saved tons of lives.
Pap
Good photos Sidney...but that ain't a #5-4"...It's a Pathfinder, Model #26-4".
Best, Capt. Chris
I tagged it wrong but the sheath works for either. I have a Kimber 45 acp. that is one of 25, I will take some pics and info on it soon.

Re: Picture Test - 11/03/20 01:03 AM
Dang Sidney! Really outstanding and beautiful Kimber, Pathfinder and stag on all.
Oh yeah, great pics too, BTW.
Thanks guys for all the nice comments.
This is the Kimber that is one of 25. It doesn't look much different than most Kimber's but has so many nice features. It is a steel framed "melted" pistol, with night sights ,4lb. trigger an Robar finish inside and out. Think I may dress it up with these grips. It would be the Ivory pair!

Very nice Kimber, Sidney! Love the grips.

Don't remember the year when LAPD had the big shootout with the bank robbers and didn't have fire power. They decided to go with 1911 and Kimber got the contract.Kimber made the TLE that year.
Tactical Law Enforcement.Got me one and it's a shooter.i use to shoot it in some matches when I was shooting IDPA.

That was late February of 1997, two months after I left California for Texas.

Different setting again.last time today
Just trying to help my Mississippi Brother out. I took these pics this morning with a Canon "ELPH", SD200. I recently "found" it in one of my old hunting fanny packs. I charged up the battery, re-formatted a 256 MB card (SD), turned off all but one 5200K light above my tent and turned the strobe off.
I supported this lil' guy (ya'll are gonna' love this) with a 32"x2"x2" piece of leopard lace wood, which I have not yet finished cutting into blocks for RMK Bowies yet!
The editing (crop, re-sizing etc.) was done using my old Microsoft Picture Manager, 2003!! Old school photography, to be sure. I am posting these up here because my Brother-from-another-Mother in Miss. cannot open them up...(For, God knows, whatever reason)???
The handle pics were so small, they did not even have to re-sized to post here, as they were "all" under 300kb...!! The camera is only capable of 3.2 Mps!!
Let us (Brother Billy & I) know what you think. This old "ELPH" might just find it's way to a Mississippi house for Christmas!!
Stay Sharp, Capt. Chris
RMK Model #5-6", Sawteeth, Nickel silver single hilt (Old style/squared), Red, white & blue spacers, Red & blue laminated micarta handle, Compass installed, Wrist thong and Model "C" sheath in waxed leather...CCS

You need to get to MS at least once a year to get Billy sorted camera wise!

Re: Picture Test - 12/13/20 01:14 PM
Capt:
Is that the old “Bear Camp Special” ?
Coach
Nope! That's a brand-ass new Model #5-6". You get the old style blade shape and teeth on any Model #5 with a 6, 7 or 8" blade. I have another one, listing to my website later on this afternoon. This one has maroon micarta. 4 knives going up and that's the end for Christmas, 2020!
Best, Capt. Chris
PS: The red & blue micarta shown above...with those pics, sold in 12 seconds!!

Re: Picture Test - 12/13/20 02:22 PM
Yep, that's a very nice optioned Model 5. The only 2 changes I would make is all red spacers, and a no hone sheath. First thing I would do is pickle that dude.

Mike,
When Cap picked up the knife from the shop.James,Becky and Cap
had lunch. They decided to have cake.I was texted 2 pictures of
my knife. One cutting the cake and the other one laying in what was
left of the uneaten cake.Of course it was super clean when I got
it.I'm confident Becky protested on my behalf..
Thank-You Billy, that sorta clears things up. I remember hearing about that litle "incident"
