GEC #44 Buffalo Jack - 08/06/18 02:19 PM
Hi guys
I saw this on their web site and had to get one. I called the other day and they picked one with some figure in the Cocobolo
Further description is Great Eastern Cutlery, Northfield UN-X-LD
Model 44 Buffalo Jack with Cocobolo wood and gun stock shape with bullet shield.
They make a really nice pocket knife for a reasonable price. (Made in USA). Back when I lived in PA, I visited the factory a few times.
Here are some photos

Did they give you a discount? I noticed a 30% off from dealers.

Pap
I did not get a discount and had not checked the prices at dealers. I see now they have this model with jigged bone too and that is great looking too

Mine showed up today. Pictures don't do them justice. Very well made and not as large as I thought they would be. A true pocket knife. Thanks for the suggestion, Peter.

Yes, thanks Peter. Mine just showed up today. Nice knife and, like Mike said, a good pocket size.

Great looking knife Guys!
Will it be a user for any of you?
I have several from GEC and haven't used any of them.

That's a beauty Tony, the stag is super. No telling if my siblings will use these #44's as an EDC, but we will have to see. Us westerners generally have a belt pouch as opposed to in the pocket. I'll keep you posted.

Tony
I also have the Tuna Valley from Perry. The only one I have used is the Beer Scout Knife with the bottle opener.
I have a Benchmade flipper that I carry mostly at this time as I don't mind if it gets scratched up

Pap,
I like the belt pouch. Have a few of 'em.
Peter,
All the GEC knives I have I got from Perry.
I think I'll have to actually use a few!

Peter,
Bottle opener really? Lol, doesn't almost everything twist off?

Mine will definitely be a user. I have very few folders that I don't use. On the other hand, I only use a few of my fixed blades. Funny how it works out that way for me. But, I definitely will not carry an "expensive" folder because as soon as I do I will somehow manage to lose it. ;-)

Peter, I also bought one of these #44’s after your initial post. Strong action and very sharp. Same size as a Buck 500 series or a MIL-K. I love it.
Warren, Most imported bottled beer still requires a bottle opener. Heineken and Corona are 2 that I still need a opener.
P.S. Corona Premier only has 2.6 carbs per 12 oz. bottle. My beverage of choice now that I am on a low carb program.

GEC makes a nice knife. Here's the relatively new Model 990118 Wall Street with wharncliffe blade and American Elk scales.

Thanks Pap and Tony. In addition to the American Elk, the handle scales are available in chestnut wood and orange jigged bone. I like the chestnut, but the elk is my favorite.
