New Checkered Handles

New Checkered Handles - 05/12/16 11:21 AM

We've got a few new checkered handles in the latest batch and they feel as good in the hand as they look. We've only done this on a small handful of knives to date, and I know Tom can attest to the character it brings to a handle. They're done by Rebecca Reimers, who works in the checkering room at Cooper Firearms in the Bitterroot Valley, about a half hour south of us. With Cooper's permission she does these off the clock as a side project, and she does well.

She really does nice work. I like the way you can still see the grain in the checkering.

Super!! I really like the checkering on wood handle's, there is a very diverse verity of checking and some can be quite ornate.

Is this a option we order in the future?

Sweet! I look forward to seeing it! Was wondering on pricing?
Only wood? Or ivory!

Not sure about ivory. On discussing a stag option, she isn't sure if her tool will burn or not. We will explore our options certainly.
