A short hike...

...quite close to town. Although I live in a rather large city it's just a 20 min. drive to go hiking in the mountains. We try to get out as often as possible. And carry a nice knife, of course laugh

Looks like one of Captain's Model 5 Campers Special. A great all around knife.

Thanks so much Peter, for taking the time to post your pictures....AND for your inspirational words....."just a 20 min. drive to go hiking....try to get out as often as possible." This hasn't been the easiest year, BUT. 2017 is upon us (ME..) and I plan to be continuously grateful and to...push myself harder.....& to make the absolute most of every moment to be in the nature that surrounds me....."just a 20 min. drive away." For over 45 years I've said &, now really plan, to make the most of every opportunity to......"Get Out While You (I) Can." Again, thank you, my friend. Happy New Year to you & all your loved ones!!

Thank you and a Happy New Year for all!

Duke, this forum is a wealth of knowledge and inspiration to me and I am very happy to be part of it. If my pictures serve as a source of inspiration it's the best that can happen smile

Peter,
Great pics. For a minute I thought you were in Baumholder but

Thank you, Billy. You are right. The scenery is not that different but it's not only more than 20 minutes. My Baumholder days are even more than 20 years ago wink

Peter,
My Baumholder days were in 1969.Part of that time was in
Holland doing AWOL apprehension duty.

Same place, a couple of weeks later. I really like visiting the same places again and again - they are different every time smile

Peter,

Love the black & white image.

Nothing like a walk in the woods with some snow on the ground, on a clear day!
