Bill, you can call in if your not in the area that day. I purchased 4 knives via telephone during the fall sale and couldn't have been happier with each of them when they arrived here!
Show up at 7 am and you'll be @ #30 in line. I've been #26 and #32 getting there between 5 & 6. Some guys show up in motorhomes on Saturday and hang for the weekend. It's very organized and everyone stay's on Q. They start handing out #'2 @ as people arrive. Depending on # of knives at each sale, everyone goes thru once and if enough inventory a 2nd time. Usually they split the inventory for those who can not be there in person for phone ins. Actually my 2 best Stock Sale acquisitions actually came by phone even though at the time I lived in Orlando. It is an absolute gotta do if you have a chance. It's a bit of an Organized Frenzy!
Thanks so much for the info. I'm going to be down there getting some relief from the Michigan cold, and just saw this. Got lucky and picked the right time. So can I assume that each person gets one knife as they go through? I'll bet it can be a bit hectic. I had planned on going to the shop and museum while there, and am excited that I might be able to bring one home with me. Thanks again.
From what I understand; Scott correct me if I'm wrong, you have a good chance on the phone if you get through equal to those in line. It is a calling marathon. I think last year there were so many calls the lines melted but were down for the day. Scott, please chime in..........
I have been there in person once where everyone had 3 shots to go thru. If anyone declines.... you line back up. Been there till noon at least once also!
A few years ago when I called at 7+ am, Jason answered he asked how long I was calling; I said just second time and he laughed. It's all good, got what I wanted, not rushed, and a story to tell.
So how many knives are we talking? Just wondering if people lined up at the store and the phones are ringing off the hook then what are your chances of buying one on this day? Also is there a big discount on this sale day??
Welcome Dan!! You are officially in now that we have pounced on ya!!!
I have never heard of less than 2 buys per person on that day, occasionally 3 +. But.... (as The Captain says.....) if every collector shows or calls that day, it may change!!!
My best Stock Sale purchase was over the phone. #3 - 7 Double NS Hilt, all Black Spacers, Ivorite Cammando Handle ,and a NS rounded BCap. My son knick named it "Ole Cue Ball"
welcome Dan!! I typically get only 1....if I even try. Then, if I decide I want another, I call will back in. I try to leave some for others... I think that last year was an anomaly...due to the phones... If others only took one at a time, it would more for everybody. Just say'n
LOL.....I bought 2 of mine late in the afternoon Monday 12th, after everybody walked thru, and 2 more on the 15th, 3 days after the sale date......AND there were STILL more to be bought! The sale probably went 4 days at least, if not longer!
So call in But nothing beats sleepin in your truck Sharing stories with a handful of faithful RKM collectors Then you won't feel the pain when the guy in front of you buys your dream knife
There will be knives you never thought of Lots of Premium Stag (I hope)
Last spring the Copper Companions & Minis came out And I tossed & turned and picked a 12-9 with a 14 grind and Premium stag
I had to order a CC from The Capt and wait 7 months Tks Capt
Sharpi and Double Think, is this your 1st stock sale? You guys will have stories to tell for sure!!!! Keep the pictures coming!!!! Can't make it in person this year but will be calling in!!!
I starting dialing dead-on at 7am and redialed constantly and finally got through at 8:18. I couldn't believe that they still had exactly what I was looking for: a 1-7 in crown stag.
@Zogger Photos in late May/early June when we receive the knives. (I guess that Zogger deleted his post.)
I got through a bit ago and they said they were almost out of ironwood. I also like Gamblers and picked up a 5 inch ss walnut model to go with my collection of Gamblers good luck guys
Gary, Jason told me about the Model 1-7" Crown Stag and it sounds like a twin to the Model 4-7" that I purchased! Should be interesting to see them once they arrive!
When I called, they had a 27 with the dyed red stag B25 handle. If I hadn't just ordered a 27 with polished stag insert, I would have snagged that one. I hope someone on here grabbed it. Sounded sweet!
Windsor, Sat this one out too according to the Warden.... Wink Wink! A couple upgrades/trades in the works. Technically speaking, according to Webster..... I did not buy anything at the Spring Stock Sale! Also, I have never lost to John McEnroe either!!!

Steve,
You might want to ask the Warden for a pardon. The Warden's have a way of finding this stuff out. I don't need to worry about this stuff anymore. I'm lol and smiling every day.
Yeah Billy.... You been snagging some good ones lately!!!! The Ole Cajuns have been keeping track of ya! IRS didn't get all of it!
And Warren, after 29 years, .... she still plays along like I'm winning! Every time I play in a golf scramble, I come home with something new that I won in da Raffle. Trust me Honey!!!!

Been there, done the golf circuit scene. LMAO, so here how it goes " so honey I just won this really cool set of irons" means while she doesn't know the tourney was a $150 bill, you spent a $50 bill at the bar, you spent $100 in raffle tix. Damn good thing you came home with something better than a hat
LOL nope I can always tell! It's like you haven't gotten a knife in a while what's up? Personally I think Tune calls her and says "I got one he likes get ready to go shopping"!
Thanks to Sharpi for the photo. I got the 4-7 with great crown stag that is circled. I had a camera hanging around my neck, and was so excited that I got this 4-7, I forgot to take a pic of it. Not sure who the gentleman was at the counter before me, but thanks so much for not buying my knife. What a fine time I had at the spring sale, and I don't think it will be my last.
A few slots to the left was another nice looking 3-5 with crown stag. That would make a nice companion knife. Hopefully Scott talked you into that one too.
Warren, Scott mentioned to Bill that I purchased the twin Model 4-7" with Premium Crown Stag via telephone. Mine is Brass while his is Nickel Silver......
There must have been a lot of Crown Stag knives this sale as I got a 1-7 over the phone, there were at least three in the top pic and I see another at the end of the shelf, in the bottom photo.
I mean it, THAT #4 was worth sleeping in a Miata!!!! LOL I was hoping it would fall to me, but it's great it went to someone who will appreciate it. If it ever wants to Winter in Florida let me know... I got room ;-)
Yes that was the best, Capt. has lots of great stories and facts, we are extremely lucky to have him as a resource and promoter of the hobby.

Yes, Raindog. Mr. Maynard told me that he had quite a few made up just for the spring sale. I can honestly say that I got the exact knife that I was looking for. I don't have a model 4, and I wanted something with crown stag. That knife on the very end in the pic was a Little Bear, and was very tempting.
This year the phones were so much that we got 2 picks in the shop and a handful of left overs got moved to the phone in's. It did not look like there would be enough to have a complete go through a third time on the walk ins.
It's actually not a Randall, it is a Camillius that was gifted to him by a good friend of his who carried it on a few tours in Vietnam. That knife and the gentleman who gave it to him are BEYOND cool, both in look and history. The Capt is gonna have the story and photo's of it in a future news letter. I consider myself fairly lucky to have held it and met Bill, 1 of the best parts of that day!
Will... Scott had mentioned to you that he was shipping THAT to me first... 4 quality inspection. and all.. then I will ship to you. I can't believe you forgot that...
Scott Thank you and the rest of the shop for getting these out so quickly. I wasn't expecting my knife for a while. It will be great to get it early. Do we all get an email that it has shipped?
Got my call from Valerie Why do them callin get better service than those that sleep on ya lawn?
Maybe because you are sleeping on their lawn. I'd say that we are all getting fantastic service compared to the normal 5+ year customers. RMK doesn't have to make these knives available at all. Plus, you got to see your knife before buying. Telephone orderers have to buy sight unseen. Either way, I am very thankful that these knives are made available. Not to mention, arriving a good 3-4 weeks before promised.
Big thanks to RMK and to the gentleman on this Forum. I would have never known there was a Spring sale without the Band of Brothers that contribute daily. Capt. Chris goes the extra mile and this forum is only one example.
I take the blame for not being able to p/u on Friday... I was out of town on family business and I didn't want to swamp Aaron with y'all coming in at all hours and keeping him from finishing out those orders that had been waiting 5 years vs those who only have waited a few weeks...ya big crybaby.
Just received from the shop sale (thanks guys) 5 inch ss gambler ns hilt and walnut (I know not ironwood) Great knife, if you have never picked up the big gambler, it is a pretty serious knife
Wow, Bill (Tattoo Bill). I just opened mine up, and Scott Maynard was correct. It truly is the "brother" to yours. I'll get a pic up soon. Congrats, great knife.
Here is the "brother" to Tattoo Bills 4-7, that I picked up at the spring sale. What a gorgeous chunk of crown stag. And only 19 days until it was at my door, so huge thanks go out to Mr. Maynard and everyone at the shop, for finishing out and shipping the knives so quickly. What a beast.....
Chief.... the record should reflect I saw this in person, it's AWESOME stuff!!!! AND I was also the "voice of reason" in the purchasing as he almost took a #5-4' instead... I saved the day on this 1!!!! That's what friends are 4
That is a nice piece of wood. I don't recall mesquite being used before "but" you never know. I do know it's one of my favorite grill/smoking woods. Nice find at the Spring sale and you got good advice.

It's not a friendly wood for craftsmen.
I have a chunk that'll eventually end up on a pair of Randall knives.
I would check to see if that grain is running in the right direction. That chunk looks cross grain and that might matter (or not). I'm editing to add it looks correct when I looked closer.
Thanks Warren & Will, I thought it was pretty unique. Enough so it drug me down to going to my first shop sale, being there first thing in the morning. Quite a few collector pieces available this go around, I will do it again
Sharpi, Scott said this afternoon you had gotten one also. Nice snag, there were 3 left when I got to the counter..
Seeee... I went to the sale to get a #27... that did not happen.. lol The search continues
James, I got in on the phone around 10, Michael answered. Turns out there were two 27's left with premium stag, one each in brass and N/S hardware. I took the N/S; in hindsight I should have taken them both. Go figure, you're making a decision sight unseen on the phone. The premium stag was intriguing though and I hope it's what I think it is.

Mike,
You've never been to a shop sale? I'm shocked. You guys are lucky that you have the shop in your backyard. I have cows and goats in my back yard.

Warren, I've been down there later in the afternoon on the day of the sale, and still picked up a knife or two, but nope this was my first go around to be there first thing in the morning.
It is pretty, oh so pretty It's a girls knife but I learned my lesson last spring when they introduced the Copper Companion passed on it and then waited 8 months for one from the Capt
Tattoo Bill I was in your backyard today Brooksville & New Port Richie
