Just an additional note.
There is no preview of the attached pictures, so you do have to submit the posting to see the pictures.
Good luck!

Added pics it looks like I should have dusted off sheath , it is in good condition. Any haze on the knife is from being oiled.

Al, if you’re using a smartphone to take your photos, there is a free photography editing app called, “Snapseed” from Google. Just go to your App Store and download for free.

The App has about fifty different editing options, including, “Rotate Image” and cropping size.

Knife photos attract more attention if photographed at a diagonal than horizontal.

This Sportsman’s Bowie was sold last year.

Hope this helps,

Re: 12-9 14 Grind for Sale - 07/26/19 03:12 PM

Man, Just so you know... if I was in buying mode, I'd jump all over your knife. But I'm currently swinging the other way.

Patience? And better pics? As Buck describes above. For sales you want revealing shots, but there's nothing wrong with giving them some glamour. As Buck advises, profile shot (from slight downward angle from front). If you don't have a light setup, indirect sunlight is best - night/ day difference. And wipe blade clean - and sheath. (I'm still on a learning curve with my smartphone camera, so I feel for you).

The guys who know what your knife really looks like up close just aren't, at this very moment, interested in that model, for whatever reason. Those on the fence, or newer to Randall might pull the trigger with a nicely photographed knife.

And for this lot, esp. (but generally too), it couldn't hurt to show the marked butcher paper and box, the works.

There is likely, as I write this, someone, somewhere, getting ready to order this very knife from Randall and paying MORE and waiting 6 years to get it.

Just my two cents.

Gary

Gary,
I feel your pain!!!
I've listed several knives here, with no interest at all...nothing.....not a peep....one of which I put on eBay, and sold for way more than double what I was asking here....I don't sometimes understand...guess it's just a smaller crowd here

I hear what ya'll are saying...BUT..(Uh-Oh...There ya' go again)...2019 catalog price runs $695.00 for this setup. Just "could be" that this group, small or otherwise, has a price list. I have seen most knives' that are at catalog price, sell on this forum.
Just sayin',

Re: 12-9 14 Grind for Sale - 07/26/19 06:23 PM

I guess I just can't add right or figure out the options very well.

I thought that with the "standard" config price of $615, adding the stainless blade would notch it up to $700.

And I thought the brass butt was billable.
And the Ivorite too.

I always did need help figuring out options.

Still, not a bad deal for no wait.

Thanks, Gary

Brass butt comes with the #25 handle option, ivorite-instead-of-stag is a freebie so long as you stick with shop-supplied material.

Stainless would indeed be a billable ($85) option.

Not a bad looking #9-25gr you have there. Good luck.

Re: 12-9 14 Grind for Sale - 07/26/19 07:45 PM

I was looking at Buck's example. Instead of $695.00 you would have to add the SS option.
Sorry, Capt. Chris

Re: 12-9 14 Grind for Sale - 07/26/19 09:07 PM

Well all that aside......this set up is offered more than any other 12-9 set up in my opinion.
You are offering it at a place where most of the folks that like a 12-9 own one like it already.
Of course this is just a guess.

Alright so with Stainless Blade price sounds right. Guess I’ll wait a little longer then back in the safe. Just trying to fund a Firearm purchase.

Al,
If there are no takers, give me a shout-out and I'll work with you to turn your #12-9" into a Fireman. I have a couple of them (Fireman, that is) in the works to include one with NASA G-3!
Best, Capt. Chris
