Byrd Walking Staff - 01/20/16 05:32 PM

The Byrd Walking Staff is kind of a hard thing to get. I have a nice one for sale.
This is the black version.
It's a steal at $300.00.
Thanks.

No....the staff is for the Mod.18. In the 2nd photo above you see the rubber tip end of the staff. You un-screw from the knurled brass piece and remove the tip. Remove the butt end piece on the mod. 18 and then screw the staff onto the knife. Makes a spear. It is a very neat piece that has been around for a while now. Byrd's first staffs came in a polished finish. Later he started making them in black. As I understand they are not that easy to get any longer.
FYI Byrd worked for Randall at one time and his job was making the tube end of the 18's. IIRC. I only had one 18 with a brass butt cap and I sold it some time ago.

The picture was obviously a Dodge. Old chevys are found in scrap yards and old fords are found in repair shops. Old Dodges are found on the road.

85% of all Dodge trucks sold are still on the road today! (The other 15% made it home)!

Is your 5 foot Byrd walking staff as heavy as mine is?

The one I got from Tom Clinton/Floyd Byrd weighs 4 pounds.

You could use it to support your race truck, JK!

Tom V.

I honestly think mine was built to kill Arkansas Razorback hogs with a Randal Model #18 knife as a weapon.

Re: Byrd Walking Staff - 10/15/17 03:30 PM

No, it weighs less than the 4' staffs do! It is NOT a Byrd staff. Some people don't like that word.....lol

I'm more a SS guy, more into durability.
I'm ok with the heavier weight.
