ONLY ....because BladesNBarrels and I paid for our table last year...... I'll be there. We will be at 8X again this year.......
Just for a teaser....BnB is going to have one of the rarest Randall items I have "never" seen at the show this year.... I have only seen pictures. Looking forward to it.
Cap, are we locked and loaded for display tables as well?
I believe we are good-to-go. I emailed the badge list 2 days ago!

Re: Blade Show - 05/02/13 05:47 AM
Capt,
Is there going to be a RKCC meeting at BLADE this year?
:-)Rocky
Rocky,
Not just this year but "every" year! I have been told by Alicia Newton (Blade Magazine) that we will be assigned Room #103 and the meeting will be at 8:00 AM on Saturday morning. Lots of new stuff and info to cover...
Stay sharp, Capt. Chris
I will be visiting Mitchell at our table, 8X.
I have also booked a booth clear across the room in the back corner by the Knife of the Year Display. It is Booth 327.
I will be displaying the Randall Made Knife Board 1971-1972.
Here is a link to the thread where there was a discussion about the board
http://www.knifetalkforums.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=92603&page=1Please trek all the way into the corner, view the board, and talk with me about Randall Knives (or other custom made knives)
David Loomis
I'm next to Rod Brown on the Capt's row this year.
I should have my May/Randall shipment in before arriving.

Re: Blade Show - 05/13/13 12:09 PM
See you there Capt.!
Cliff
RKCC CM-026
Cliff and everyone else,
I'm looking forward to the whole thing! Just ordered an "additional" 350 pieces of custom handle material! Unlike Buck, who keeps moving like a vagabond, I'm on the same 2 tables as always. I took over Perry's table a couple of years back and Buck will be set up "right next" to me! (We'll see if that boy can "really" sell...or not)
The club tables are a definite and all badges are in the pipeline. The meeting is set for 8:00 AM on Saturday morning (room #103) and I am working on a variety of new door prizes and auction items. I don't think anyone will be dissapointed.
Speaking of "everyone": If you are a RKCC "Charter Member", i.e. your RKCC membership # begins: "CM", you probably owe 2013-2014 dues, as all charter members are billed from the Blade show date. Some may have not received their membership cards until a later date but all should have received "KNIFE KNEWS", Issue #1. Seeing as how there are no "perfect worlds", I am sure there are exceptions to this rule. If you're reading this and are a charter member and have "not" received everything mentioned above, please email me or call on the "club" contact info:
Email: RKCCLUB@aol.com
Phone: (352) 598-1880
Thanks to all of you and hope to see a batch of you at "Blade".

Re: Blade Show - 05/15/13 09:52 PM
Another year I will miss the Blade Show.
When I did aerodynamic work this time of year (for Ford, at Lockheed in Marietta, Georgia), it was easy to swing by the Cobb Galleria Center to check out things. Not anymore.
We are very busy in Michigan with ECOBOOST work so no trips for me. (:>(
One of these years, I will get down there and meet all of your guys though.

Re: Blade Show - 05/19/13 12:38 PM
I'll be at 17X again... Well, actually I'll be wandering around all over the place but I stop by the table when I need to sit down for a spell.
17X is the table at the other end of Capt's row. If you spot an old geezer there, that's me. If you see a young buck, that's one of my sons. If you see anyone else, please remind them to pay for the knives they take :-)
09:50pm here:...just finished to pack & check everything ready to flight over tomorrow to
LAX...than, on my way back, a nice stop over in Atlanta to meet with all of you Guys.
See you soon

Re: Blade Show - 05/28/13 07:41 PM
For those that are flying, how do you get your knives to-and-from? Checked luggage? Shipped? If shipped, who do you ship to, the hotel? Scary!! My friend Bill Burke has an interesting system. He checks his knives with a "beater" gun, an old H&R I think. It goes through a bunch of hoops, but it must be inspected by a real "person" at each stop and thus, he has never had a problem. Pretty neat idea.

Re: Blade Show - 05/29/13 06:13 PM
Getting the last of the "nice to haves" and the "essentials" together for the show....... ETA 1:00pm Thursday.
Hey everybody!
I'm officially "out the door", headed for Hotlanta! I will be there at 10:00 AM tomorrow morning to hand out badges and give out the table assignments for the RKCC "club" display tables. Remember to ask for the "RKCC"...not your personal name as all info for Blade goes through the club.
For the rest of you folks: I sure hope to meet some new friends and re-aquaint with some old ones. I'll leave the photo and computing work to Buck, Mitch and "others". I plan on being extremely busy for the next several days. Please stop by and visit!
Stay sharp, Capt. Chris
