David and Rocky

Great knives and sheaths. As someone said many years ago, we are only temporary caretakers of the knives and sheaths.

Re: Flashback Friday - 07/28/23 10:42 AM

Going back to 2006, when I ended my caretaker status of this knife.
It originally was acquired from Perry Miller years before.
Engraved by Ron Skaggs, Lion Sheath from Greg Gutcher.
There was a crack and Rick Bowles built it into the scrim.
The theme is similar to a favorite scene of Sandra Brady as shown on the Sakmar knife.

Re: Flashback Friday - 09/01/23 04:45 PM

Here is a Model 11-5 that I owned twice.
First time, in 2010, I had it built from part of a Narwhal Tusk. It included a solid silver hilt, spacers, and butt cap. It was completed in March, 2010.
I sold it about 2 years later and then bought it back again in 2018.

Re: Flashback Friday - 09/24/23 05:56 PM

In 2005, I started collecting Narwhal.
One of my first was a Bear Bowie with Doug Cream's Silver Hilt, Spacers, and Butt Cap.
I sent it to Ron Skaggs for engraving and it ended up with this design - two Narwhals crossing tusks inlaid with gold.
