12-8 potential buy

Anybody have any thoughts on the worth of this knife. I have a line on it and have been told he has had it for about 20ish years. Sound about right? We plan to do some trading so I'm trying to figure it's worth.

Suggest you go to the Randall Made Knives website and you can build that exact knife and get the current catalog cost for the knife new. That will give you a good idea of current worth. I don't think the fact that it maybe 20 years old is going to add much if anything to the current market value. Nice knife and looks to be in mint condition.

If you are exchanging pictures and emails about the knife, you should ask for pictures of the back of the sheath and the stone.

I will do that. Best I can tell from the web site build prices it comes out to around 800 ish, if I did it correctly.

Current catalog would be $660 plus shipping.

Trying to confirm but I think the blade is Stainless. Picture on my phone it's easier to see.

Not stainless..... tool steel.

I thought a stamped S on the blade means SS , is that not correct. Maybe I'm seeing something else, the only picture I have is not very clear. I have asked the owner to confirm. Regardless, I thank you for your help . M

I don't see an S

An S at the end of the Trademark Stamp does indicate Stainless Steel but the photo is not clear enough to see that and I have tied all my Photoshop Editing Tools but still can't tell. I would insist on a better photo as well as a photo of the back of the sheath and stone from the pouch as recommended by Tunefink.

I think it’s a great looking knife. Sometimes knives with fewer options are special because they have simple, classic styling.

So I received the 12-8. Wow ! That's a serious knife !
